In the world of reproductive wellness, finding natural and effective solutions for menstrual discomfort can feel like an endless quest. Enter Womb Rhythm—a topical blend where ancient wisdom meets modern care, crafted by Dr. Mama Shani. This innovative formula combines the powerful benefits of artemisia with the nurturing properties of jojoba oil, offering a holistic approach to menstrual pain relief, hormonal balance, and reproductive wellness.

The Healing Power of Artemisia & Jojoba for Period Pain

Womb Rhythm is more than just a topical application; it's a journey back to feeling at home in your body. Artemisia (mugwort) has been celebrated for centuries for its warming and circulation-boosting properties. Traditional medicine practices have long used this powerful herb to address menstrual cramps, period pain, and digestive discomfort.

This natural remedy is perfectly complemented by jojoba oil, renowned for its deep absorption and skin-soothing qualities. Together, they create a harmonious blend that supports your body's natural rhythm throughout your menstrual cycle.

Shani Cooper

Dr. Shani Cooper, DACM, L.Ac.

I am a threshold keeper.

I hold space for birthing bodies from pre-conception through postpartum and beyond. For the families who carry them. Spirit babies show up and invite me onto their journey earthbound, and I get to be the one who walks beside the parents making room for them. That's not a tagline. That's the actual work, every single day.

Where I come from

I'm a Naval veteran, a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine trained in China and Tibet, a licensed acupuncturist, and the founder of Root & Soul Acupuncture in La Mesa, CA. I built this practice from the ground up, moving it away from the insurance-heavy grind and into a cash-pay, concierge model that actually reflects the depth of care I want to give. My focus is fertility and IVF support, pregnancy and birth, postpartum recovery, and hormonal health. I combine Chinese medicine and acupuncture with doula-style, embodied support and coaching tools. Body, mind, and spirit, held together, for the whole birthing year.

Where I am now

I'm in the thick of building the version of this business that doesn't live or die by how many bodies I can personally touch in a day. My brick-and-mortar practice runs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and alongside it I'm building out the digital and product side of Root & Soul. Online courses like Already Expecting, my integrative fertility program, and a growing line of ritual and herbal products under Dr. Mama Shani. I'm doing the unglamorous work most healers skip: learning my own P&L, building payroll and retirement infrastructure into an S-Corp, hiring and training a team, and turning "just me" into systems that can hold more than just me. I'm not interested in burnout dressed up as devotion. I'm building something that scales because the people I serve deserve continuity, and because my own family deserves a version of me that isn't running on fumes.

Where I'm going

In the next year, I see payroll running like a well-oiled machine and my S-Corp matching my own 401(k). I see a team that loves this business as much as I do, systems that let both the practice and the courses flow without me holding every piece, and a space that's finally too small for what we've built. I see business and personal debt fully manageable, cards paid off monthly, budgets that feel expansive instead of restrictive. I see myself at my son's school events and activities without sacrificing a single thing professionally. I see annual retreats, for both my team, and for me, regular camping trips, family cruises, and my mother's house paid off so she can be with us whenever she wants, free of that burden in her golden years. I see my husband with real choices about his work, because the business has grown enough to hold that possibility. I see abundance that isn't just financial... it's spaciousness, ease, and grace, for the people I love and the people I serve.

I create room in my own life for the things that keep me human: writing and singing songs that channel something ancestral and free my spirit, showing up in rooms and speaking my truth, advocating for love over fear as a practice, not just a belief.

I am the powerful creator of this life, the good and the hard parts both. I keep choosing love. I keep choosing to build. I am still here, and I believe I can do this.

The short version: I help people cross the threshold into parenthood and through it, using ancient medicine and modern business sense in equal measure. And I'm building a practice, and a life, generous enough to hold everyone I love.
